The Revolution Series is very excited to welcome back Mark McKone as our January Clinician + Judge!

Like most of us, Lisa Fisher has loved everything about horses since she can remember.  Finally getting her own green broke horse as a kid, they rode everywhere from the local hunter show rings to the Rocky Mountains, Appalachian Trail and even Assateague Island. By the age of 13, Lisa's Dad, a fighter pilot in the Air Force, insisted she work off every penny of her horse's expenses. In addition to the usual chores, it was there that Lisa began her life long journey starting young horses. She's been hooked on learning about how THEY learn, and what motivates them, ever since.

Fast forward a few decades to a beautiful paint mare she'd picked up at an auction not knowing she was in foal. It wasn't long after the colt was born that things with this otherwise quiet mare started to change, and Lisa realized, like many of us, she needed some real help and found Don and Linda Coulter in Naples, Florida. For the next 13 years, Lisa emmersed herself in their training program, which closely followed the teachings of Tom and Bill Dorrance, as well as Ray Hunt, George Morris and Bill Steinkraus. First as a working student and later as Assistant Trainer, Lisa learned that horsemanship is not only an art form, but an ongoing process of learning from the horse, as well as the mentors she follows.

Lisa was blessed, yet again, to intern with Kathleen Lindley Beckam in Molena, GA, last year for the winter season, who had been riding with and following the principals of Buck Brannaman diligently over many years. Kathleen talked a lot about "Presence: Taking up space, unapologetically," and "Be a Peace Broker! Peace is your greatest currency!" Lisa took these and many other concepts to heart, changing everything, once again. She was not only able to study in greater detail the emotional and mental development of the young horse , from halter breaking, starting under saddle and learning to actually work and feel good about learning, as well as uncovering and healing key issues in the "troubled" horses.

What Lisa has learned over the course of a lifetime, with the very best mentors one could ever have and many different types of horses is that the relationship between a human and a horse is only as good as our willingness to learn. Her greatest joy is helping others gain a better understanding of and empower them to help their horse, at any level, any age, in any discipline.  Welcome to the journey.
